Coronavirus (Covid-19) Updates

Dear Friends,

Reaching-Out Community Services is taking new measures to assist our clients and protect our staff during the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. We cannot turn our back on our food pantry members, especially being that many of them already have preexisting health conditions, or are elderly. Therefore, we must improve our food distribution process to accommodate this current and evolving situation.

As of today, our food pantry has begun operating outdoors. Instead of having our clients wait in a crowded indoor area for their food and place orders on a digital touch screen, staff will be bringing pre-selected bags of food to clients outside. This new method will limit exposure and hopefully reduce contact as we are prioritizing keeping a safe distance from others.

We admit, this may be a challenge as we are not used to operating this way, but in the coming days and weeks, we will adapt how we need to.

These new changes mean we will need to do a few things: order more supplies such as bags (since normally our clients bring their own), increase our cleaning efforts, and stock up with even more food.

As a nonprofit, we do the best we can with what we have, but we have always operated with limited resources. If you would like to help us serve the community during these challenging times, you can make a donation below or on our website.

Our goal, as it always has been, is to reduce hunger in the community and we plan to continue to do so in the coming weeks and months amidst COVID-19.

If you have any questions or wish to reach out to us, please call (917) 509-9055.
Volunteers are greatly needed.

Your donation support at this needed time will help us to purchase cleaning supplies, wipe, mask and bags for the food distribution. Us link below.
