In 1989, we began by distributing meals and clothing from a single van. Today, we serve more than 14,000 low-income families across Brooklyn by providing food assistance, social services, youth employment, and adult education. We are able to do this only because of our dedicated partners.
We are proud to announce that the Guru Krupa Foundation (GKF) has partnered with us once again to fund the Helping Neighbors in Need project. This initiative provides nutritious food to Brooklyn’s most vulnerable, including homebound seniors, immigrant families, and those experiencing homelessness.
This funding also supports our Client-Choice Food Pantry, allowing us to purchase fresh produce, dairy, and vegetarian items. Unlike traditional pantries, our model empowers clients to choose the items that best fit their family’s needs.
The Guru Krupa Foundation is a New York-based private foundation dedicated to social welfare and holistic giving supporting our mission since 2015.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Guru Krupa Foundation for their continued generosity and their commitment to supporting Reaching Out Community Services.
