From our humble beginnings in 1989, distributing hot meals & clothes out of an old van, we have grown exponentially, now serving over 13,000 low-income families, in Brooklyn, New York, and offering a multitude of services such as food assistance, social services, a summer youth employment program, an adult education program, only to name a few. We recognize that our growth would not be possible without our committed and loyal partners.
This is why we are pleased to announce that the Guru Krupa Foundation (GKF) has partnered with us, yet again, to fund the Helping Neighbors in Need project, that is designed to bring nutritious food sustenance to the low-income, immigrant, minority, homebound, disabled, homeless & otherwise underserved population in the local community, and for the purchase of vegetarian food items for the Client-Choice food pantry. Our Client-Choice food pantry consists of shelf-stable, fresh produce and dairy items, and clients get to choose what they would like to take home.
Guru Krupa Foundation is a private foundation based in the State of New York. The Foundation follows a holistic approach to charitable giving focusing on four broad categories: Social Welfare, Higher Education, Spirituality, Culture & Arts and the Environment. GKF has been a steadfast supporter of our organization, providing funding for a variety of programs such as the Mobile food pantry program and the Homeless feeding program, since 2015.
